The God Of Hope
According to the dictionary, “hope as a verb (doing word) means to want something to happen or be true. It is the expectation of something desired; thing that gives cause for hope or is desired.” (Collins English Dictionary)
From the days of Adam and Eve, God has given mankind hope, even in the darkest moments of our life experiences. Why?, because He loves everyone on earth (John 3:16) and because He (God) IS the God of hope! As I listened to the news, all I heard was the awful things that a person had done to another; the cost of living and how it is affecting people; and most recently, the homes/ organisations, that would protect people from domestic abuse, is now struggling to keep the premises lit and warm for the vulnerable residents. Do you have hope? Is your hope being powered by the Holy Spirit? You see, it is the Holy Spirit who empowers you with hope. When He does so, He is demonstrating God’s love for us. Hope given by the Holy Spirit works together, to give us confidence, peace, power, joy, and love.
Material things such as a car, a house, money, a spouse, and friends, can only bring a feeling of contentment and exhilaration; but they cannot give us real hope. Your spouse or spouse to be cannot give you true hope, because their abilities are limited to what he/ she is able to do.
There are many people on planet earth who have the material things, but still decide they are not enough to keep them on this side of the bridge.
So, where is hope from? It comes from our Creator. He is the one who created hope. It came from God (Elohim) How do we obtain hope? By trusting God, even when things are difficult. When do we hope? We should always hope in God; in the good times and the difficult times. Who will help you to have hope? The Holy Spirit will. How will you know you have hope? Know you have hope, depends on whether you are obeying God’s Word. (Especially found in the Holy Bible.) Trusting God’s Word will produce ‘obedience.’ ‘Obedience’ will in turn produce ‘hope.’
The results of hope is peace and joy; and that is the power of the Divine Holy Spirit. During your time of fasting and pray:
• Pray that the Holy Spirit will fill you with hope in 2023.
• Pray that Holy Spirit will move in the lives of your family and church family, to give them
hope.
• Thank Jesus for giving everybody on planet Earth, the opportunity to have a relationship
with God again, because of His birth and life on Earth; and His death for our sins, on the cross of Calvary.
