There Is Hope In God’s Promises
As I reflect on the words of the song entitled “You are the Most High God,” it solidifies the fact that ‘all the other gods, they are the works of man.’ Those gods are not omnipresent; they are not omnipotent, and they are not omniscient. They are the thoughts and works of man. God on the other hand, is the Most-High God that every human can depend upon! It is His words, which created all things above the earth, beneath the earth and in the earth. His greatest creation being mankind, who was made in His likeness. We may look to others, to try and help us through situation/s we are faced with in life, but his may not always work out for us. However, when Jesus is involved in you life, things will always work out for the best. Even when we don’t quite understand the outcome, at that present time. You have been praying for something or someone, for a long time and have yet to see the outcome. Perhaps you have been feeling discouraged, or overlooked, thinking that God has forgotten you, and all that you do, inside and outside of the church walls seems (dare I say) boring and mundane. Do not lose hope and go back to your old nature/character/way of life. God wants us to move on (but not away) from the elementary teachings of having faith; the meaning of baptism and spiritual gifts and the foolishness of trying to be saved by good works. God wants us to have a deeper relationship with Him, via Jesus and the Holy spirit. God wants us to mature as Christians.
There are two unchangeable things about God: His nature- as he embodies all truth, so you can be secure in His promises. Then there are His promises – just as an anchor can stop a large ship from moving, God’s promises can be your anchor in life. It will stop you being tossed to and froe with the unsavoury things that doubt, fear, worry and anxiety will try to unsteady you with.
Hebrew 6:9 -19 encourages us to continue to hope in God, through our great high priest, Jesus. Continue to hold onto the words and promises God has given to you through the Holy Bible, and in your soul. When you feel as if all hope is gone, remember that “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? (Numbers 23:19 New Living Translation)
Take hold of the hope set before you and be strongly encouraged.

“This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus had already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.” (New Living Translation)
