Trust in Jesus, even when you don’t understand.

I needed to make a journey to another town, which required me using the sat nav. Having prayed; and the address in place; to avoid all toll-roads; we set off on our journey.

It was to take us one hour and fifty minutes to reach our destination. However, the sat-nav screen in the dash board, decided it was not going to come on, and the google map on the android, decided, it was not going to speak the instructions to me. So, I had to follow the instructions, by quickly glancing at them, whilst driving. All went well, and we reached there on time. At one point we were at a stand-still, but the sat-nav seemed to have calculated that little incident, into the journey.

Following the event, it was time to go home. Again, we prayed, set the stat-nav for home, and started our journey. However, I noticed that we were driving past buildings we did not drive by, on our way to the event.

My mind began to wonder. Why were we going a different way home? Why wasn’t the sat-nav taking us the way we came? Having to travel through different areas and traffic lights, the journey to my understanding, seemed as if it was taking longer to leave the city and enter the motorway. At one point I stopped and re-inputted our home address back into the sat nav. It directed me to continue on the same route. Basically, I had to trust where it was telling me to drive, even if I did not understand why I was on that particular route and not the first one. That took some doing; for me not to be anxious about getting home really late. My reluctancy to trust this different route gradually subsided, and not long after, we were on the dual carriageway home.

Sometimes a relationship with the LORD can be like the above. We have a relationship with Him whilst we are familiar with the direction in life that we are on Until the LORD instructs you to take another path, because He needs to do some healing/deliverance in your life. Or perhaps the Lord is teaching us how to forgive. The fact that you are not familiar with this new path, means that you will have to completely trust Jesus, even when you don’t understand; order for you to reach your new destination.

During this weeks prayer and fasting focus:

Pray, asking Jesus to help you to completely trust Him with your life, your family, and your church family members. Especially when you don’t understand. Don’t try to lean on your own understanding. That could lead you to take longer on your life journey.

Prayer and Fasting Focus: Trust Jesus, even when you don’t understand.

Bible Reading: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3: 5 – 6. NKJ version
