The power of waiting!

At birth, a baby elephant weighs around and incredible 200lbs, which is about 14st in simpler terms. Within 20 minutes of being born, he or she is able to stand firmly on all four feet, and within an hour, is able to walk. Within just 2 days, the baby elephant is able to keep with up the rest of the herd of elephants, in migration for food and water. A baby elephant cannot see very well, but uses it's sharp sense of smell, touch and hearing to keep up with it's mother and the rest of the herd.

The baby elephant's mother gave birth to a walking miracle, full of strength, wisdom and power. Her blessing, after nurturing her baby elephant for a pregnancy of 22 months. Yes, 22 long months of waiting.

The power of waiting!

It's not always easy to wait, we become eager, restless, anxious even, but like the baby elephant's mother, in order to receive our true blessing, reach our true potential, and carry out His plan for our life, at times God does not give us any other choice but to wait. Imagine how much more we could achieve if we just wait on His timing, not early, never late, but always on time. Imagine how many lives we could impact, if we wait on His go ahead, and not act on our own agenda and script. Yes, God can do a quick work in a short time, but it's still in His time, not our. So regardless of how long or short the wait, God still requires just that.....the wait!

Isaiah 41:10 displays the heart of our Father, and the importance He places on waiting. He reminds us that in waiting, our strength shall be renewed, we shall soar like eagles, run and not become weary, and walk and not become tired or faint. He just requires us to trust, rest and wait.

In this time of fasting, reflect on what you are waiting for. What you have asked God for and are waiting for His answer. What has He already told you to wait for? And how are you feeling during your wait? Remember the mother elephant and the baby miracle she produced after her wait. Your wait may not be 22 months, or 22 days or even 22 years. But remember, however long your wait is or has already been, God has you, and He will strengthen you. And the miracle that will be birthed from your wait, will exceed every expectation. Simply through your obedience to wait, and the power of that waiting.

God Bless You
