Be a Peacemaker- Be in the Family of God.

Jesus, the Christ is also known as the Prince of Peace. In God’s Kingdom, God expects us to take hold of His Word and promises; to experience them and personify them. In the sermon of mount, Jesus declares “Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.” Matthew 5:9 Jesus lets us know that if we make peace, and not war, we are sons of God. We are in God’s divine family. How do we ‘be’ peacemakers?

1.Put your hope in God. (Not in mankind, animals of things)

Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior, and my God.” Psalm 42:5

2. Spend quality time in the presence of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. Isaiah 9:6-7a

3. Accept the kind of peace that Jesus the Christ leaves with you and gives to you.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” John 14:27

4. When you are in a spiritual battle, know that God will fight with you. So don’t run away for examples: leave your job; family; church if at all possible. Be at peace, because “ You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 “You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. “Philippians 4:13 “Fight the good fight of faith.”- 1 Timothy 6:12.

5. Love your enemies: “If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head (you will make him/her feel guilty and want to repent of their behaviour), and the LORD will reward you.” Proverbs 25:21-22. 6. Eagerly and swiftly, forgive and settle any differences we have with anybody. A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness. . Proverbs 15:1-2

Pray: That Jesus will help Christians to have His peace and demonstrate it through their lives.
