This too shall pass, just let God
As a child of God, I have a story, a Long and Winding story, that spans many years of a Christian journey. A story of sorrow, a story of pain, a story of hurt, a story of bereavement, a story of neglect, a story of abuse, a story of depression, a story of self loathing, a story of debt, a story of loss, a story of homelessness, a story of lack, a story of rejection. A story in the wilderness and a story in darkness.
At every obstacle along the treacherous trail, my mind failed, and my heart gave out. Things couldn’t possibly get any worse than this. How many times when faced with obstacles, how many times with stumbling blocks in the way, how many times did I speak those words, things couldn’t possibly get any worse than this!
And without even realising it, those words were spoken numerous times, at numerous junctions in the journey. At each point I declared, things, couldn’t possibly get any worse than this.
This is it this is it for me!
I can’t even recall the time when I actually realised each obstacle, each stumbling block was actually behind me. Each obstacle hadn’t got any worse. Each stumbling block hadn’t been the end for me. Each was behind me each had passed!
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 tells us…..
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
What a hope we have when we just let God! The Bible tells us His word cannot return to him void and He has told us that our affliction is light! Whatever we are going through, is only for a moment! And it’s working for more, exceeding an eternal way of glory, how ever difficult our situation may seem, to God, it is light and it too shall pass, if we just let God.
Our God is an eternal father. He will always fulfil his promises and he will always fulfil these in His time, for His purpose, and to His glory. Do not despair. However, difficult and dark your situation may be in this time of fasting focus on the fact that God will bring you out and that this too, whatever your “this” is, it too shall pass….just let God.
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” (Romans 12:12).
God bless you.
