The Infinite Power of GOD

One of God’s characteristics is that He (along with the rest of the Holy Trinity) is ‘infinite.’ Whilst we as human beings, are ‘finite.’ The word ‘Infinite’ is an adjective that someone or something as being limitless; endless; extremely great; extremely large or, impossible to measure or calculate.

The Lord God describes Himself to John, in Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. “says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 1:11 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,”

Revelation 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

Whereas ‘finite’ describes a person or something that has a definite limits be that our lifespan, or memory.

So why does God and Jesus let us know that they are the Alpha and Omega which also represents infinity? Well, Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. God is the beginning of humankind being the Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Omniscient creator of the Universe, of life, and mankind. Jesus was there in the beginning as the Word.

Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. When we look into the scriptures, God lets us know that He is the End of us, and will judge each of us, in the afterlife, according to what we have done in the finite time we have to live. The LORD, as God is known throughout the Greek alphabet, we also notice that He is known throughout the Hebrew alphabet in Psalm 119.
