He Is The Lion and The Lamb
On my last visit to the zoo, there was one animal that I really wanted to see. It was the lion.
Aka ' the king of the jungle' with his majestic mane, great strength, teeth, and claws that would rip its prey apart for consumption.
In the Bible, our Lord Jesus is portrayed as the Lion of Judea, and rightly so! Jesus demonstrated His majestic character as well as His great strength whilst on earth. For example, during His forty days and nights of fasting and then overcoming the devil and his temptations.
The Lord Jesus was crowned with a crown of thorns (Matthew 27: 29) as He was mocked before being crucified, like a lamb to the slaughter.
During our prayer and fasting this week, let us:
Reflect on the knowledge that Jesus, the Lion of Judea is ready to protect you, fight for you as you stand against sin; and brake any chains (e.g., addictions)you are struggling with, so that you are victorious. (Revelations 5:5)
Thank Jesus for not being our scapegoat, with the characteristics of a Lamb. Innocent, mild and weak, as He willing died for the remission of our sins. (Isaiah 53:7)
Let's thank the Lord Jesus for His great power and Majesty for every body on planet earth.
