Heal Your Wallet; Healing Your Purse.
At a time when our country is facing great shifts in the financial world, those shifts may have a way of affecting everybody, one way or another. So, it may be a good time to take a moment to reflect on any past financial traumas you may have had in the past (or present). Once you recognise those traumas and how they made you feel (depressed. Stressed, anxious, angry) it’s time to take the relevant steps to heal and recover mentally and financially. How do we accomplish this? Well, the Holy Bible speaks about wealth, riches, and money. There is no need to be anxious about your future in the twenty first century. In Malachi 3:6, the Lord states “For I am the Lord, I do not change,” .....That’s comforting to know! What’s also comforting, and reassuring is that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 6:10) God does not want his people to be so focused on obtaining money and riches, that He is no longer first in their life. In fact, 1 Timothy 6:10 tells us that “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, ands pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
“You cannot serve God and money.” (3 John 1:2.) Money is necessary because we need to for services and goods. But God wants us to rely on Him, not on ourselves, our friends, or relatives. God our Creator, our Father, wants us to seek His kingdom first, along with His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Read Matthew 6:33)
One day God made it clear to me, that He wants to be my provider. He doesn’t want anyone or anything to receive the glory that belongs to Him. So, I make sure that I carry out his instructions as stated in Malachi 3: 10 -12. You will find that when you do your part, Jehovah Jireh will do His, and you will always have work, you will be able to feed yourself and your family, keep your home, pay your bills etc.. Etc.. all because you followed God’s instructions. Yes they were written thousands of years ago, but this universal law still works even today.
During this week’s Prayer and Fasting, pray:
• That Jehovah forgives us for not managing our finances properly.
• That the Lord will give you and your church family, the wisdom required to manage money.
• That EVERYBODY in our church family who is working, will give a tithe and an offering each
month. As we do so,
• pray and ask God to fulfil His words, as stated in Malachi 3 verses 11 and 12
