Fill Up On God!
What are you filling up your life with? What are you filling up on? And is it/ are they truly satisfying you?
The day I mistakenly filled my car with the wrong type of fuel, the car stopped and refused to start.
The fuel tank had to be drained and re-filled with the correct type of fuel before it would start and move again.
Before Jesus returned to Heaven, He gave his closest disciples instructions to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father. The promise was, that they would be baptized with the Holy Ghost. (Acts 1:4-8) Jesus wants His disciples/ followers to be filled with the Holy Spirit, in order for us to:
1. Be Christ like, or more like Christ Jesus.
2. Be empowered, in order for us to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ.
3. Be convicted of sin. The Holy Spirit is able to convict us BEFORE we sin and not just after we sin. So, when you feel the Holy Spirit tugging at your heart, don’t ignore Him. He is trying to say - Don’t do it! Or don’t do that! Do this instead. It is up to you to take heed and respond to Him appropriately.
4. Be guided into all truth. (John 16:13)
5. For the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s word to us, through the Bible.
6. Enable us to have close fellowship with other believers. (Acts 4:32)
Being filled with God, by Holy Spirit will out last anything and everyone, you could ever fill your life with.
During your prayer and fasting time:
Pray that the Holy Spirit would be with you and in you, in order for you to experience the points
above.
Pray that yourself and members of your church family, will be filled with the Holy Spirit and will live through the Holy Spirit. No matter their age of gender.
