Stay Committed To God During Winter

It can be hard for some people during the winter season. There are those who go to work when it’s dark and return home when it’s dark. The weather may influence some people because there is less sun light, and more grey, cloudy, sky. The leaves have begun to fall off the trees, as we battle with the wind, to and from our destinations. The rain may even put a damper on our plans for the day. Especially, if you are not driving. The winter months may also influence our mood, as well as our environment. You may find yourself wanting to get home and stay at home for the rest of the day. The thought of getting ready to go out to an event at your church, may require great effort on your part. Once you have sat down on the sofa, for the evening, you may find it easier to watch program after program, than it is to go in a quiet room, to talk to Jesus and read a passage from your Bible. So, what can you do to raise your vibrations and spiritual connect with God during the winter season? How can you be and remain committed to God, in the winter? Here are some suggestions:

1. Play some praise and worship music when you wake up. It doesn’t need to be loud. Just enough so that you can hear it in your bedroom. Before you know it, you will be joining in, and your emotions or mood will begin to rise, as you get up.

2. Use bright light, in your home, to help you wake up, and again, to raise your vibrations (mood or emotions). Wear up-lifting colours. Find something good to laugh about.

3. Spend time praying before you leave your home. Pray for your children/ spouse/parents/siblings. Who ever you live with. Invite God into your day. Ask Jesus to help you and others, through the day.

4. Pray and bless your food and drink. Give God thanks for giving you your breakfast/lunch/dinner/supper and for giving you the nourishment you need, to live for Him. Are you eating foods that are making you fell tired and drained? Are you eating too much or not enough? How can you improve your eating patterns?

5. When possible, do some exercise. Going for a walk is a good one. Even if it’s for 30 minutes. When you return home, your body will thank for it, and you will feel less stress and more at peace.

During this weeks Prayer and Fasting,

✓ Pray that you and the members of your church family will take the time to Pray! No matter what it is you are facing, take it to the Lord in prayer. God will maintain your confidentiality.

✓ Ask Jesus to help you be and remain committed to God, just as He was, when He walked the earth.

✓ Spend time just praising and thanking God for all that He has done and will do, in your life.
